NGUYEN PHAM THUY QUYNH

Country of origin: Vietnam
Study abroad school: Hiroshima University of Economics
Please introduce yourself.

My name is Quynh.
I'm from Da Nang of Vietnam.
I came to Japan 2 years and 8 months ago.
I studied Japanese at YMCA vocational school for 1 years and a half.
This year I'll be sophomore of Hiroshima university of economics.
My hobbies are watching drama and Conan.
When I was in primary school, I read a book about Conan.
Since then, I'm interested in Japanese things.
When I was in High School, my measure was English but now I forgot English since I started leaning Japanese.
My university has plenty of European students.
So I wanted to be friend of them but I didn't have confident to talk to them.
If I can speak basic English, I will have bunch of friends from other countries.
After finishing my school I'll be more busy with life.
So, I need to study hard and I want to have fun for school life.

Why did you choose to study abroad in Hiroshima?

I heard that Hiroshima is a place that easy to live because the climate is calm and prices are not so high compare to other provinces.
I chose Hiroshima because I think that I can concentrate on my study because it is not lively as in Tokyo etc.
After all since I came to Hiroshima this place is perfect for me.
People are also kind, food is delicious and we have made many friends.
Also, I heard that the department of Japanese communication at Hiroshima YMCA vocational school is famous, so I thought that I want to study at this school and made it to Hiroshima.

What do you like about Hiroshima?
Speaking of Hiroshima, Miyajima, baseball carp, okonomiyaki, oysters and so on.
Especially, I love Peace Park.
When I attended a Japanese language school, I went through near the Peace Park every day.
That always gave me a peaceful feeling.
I think it is awesome to have a cherry blossom viewing with friends in Peace Park.
Because it is close to shopping district, it is convenient to take a walk at Peace Park and then go shopping.
Please provide a message to those considering to study abroad in Japan.

For international students I think language is the most important thing.
If I can speak Japanese, I can make friends easily and I can also find a part time job.
Foreign students need to pay high tuition and spend a lot of money for living so we spend a lot of time for part-time job.
This effects to not only our health but also our studying.
Instead, you can live a fulfilling life by studying hard and trying hard to get a scholarship.
