The university's Department of Social System Design is a single department, in which students will learn about liberal arts subjects, such as the human sciences, social sciences (economics and business), and natural sciences (environmental studies), and will acquire the skills necessary to engage in a digital society by learning about tool-related subjects involving ICT and the data sciences.
Furthermore, the department also adopts a Project Based Learning approach to offer practical subjects that involve the kind of real-world problem solving that addresses the issues that companies and local governments are actually facing in the world today.
One characteristic of this university is that all subjects are taught in both Japanese and English, and instructors adopt an active learning style that involves small class sizes consisting of about 30 students per class.
This university also offers a wide variety of scholarship programs geared toward international students (programs to reduce course tuition fees by half, etc.).
