As the only national university in the prefecture, this comprehensive university features 12 schools and 4 graduate schools, and it covers a wide range of academic fields, such as the humanities, the sciences, and medicine, etc.
After undergoing a series of organizational changes, it established its Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life and Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences in April of 2019, and it established its Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering and Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences in April of 2020.
It features many distinct characteristics, such as its superior faculty and extensively equipped research facilities, its cutting-edge research that has earned high praise both domestically and abroad, and its one-of-a-kind undergraduate educational system referred to as the “objective achievement-oriented educational program,” which aims to provide each individual student with fine-tuned learning support and to better ensure educational quality assurance.
In the academic year of 2014, this university was selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Top Global University Project (also known as the Super Global University Project).
Established in FY2023, the Graduate School of Innovation and Practice for Smart Society conducts education and research in coordination with four graduate schools.
